Q Do you deliver my balloons or do I have to collect them?
A Normally we will deliver. For our bigger orders, such as weddings, or any event where many balloons are involved, we will inflate on site, but for smaller orders where the balloons will fit in a car without difficulty we may deliver them ready inflated. But since we make a delivery charge based on distance to the venue, you may like to collect the balloons from us. That’s just fine, but it needs to be arranged with us beforehand.
Q Can I have a look at the balloons before I order them?
A Yes! We positively encourage our customers to pay us a visit. It’s not just the balloons you will want to look at, but the wide selection of ribbons and weights available, and other accessories we can supply for weddings and parties. Just give us a ring to arrange an appointment and we will be very pleased to help you.
Q How much notice do I need to give you to be sure you can do my balloons?
A The obvious answer is as much as you can, and some of our bridal customers book many months in advance. On the other hand we can do jobs at short notice, even 24 hours occasionally, provided we have the balloons you want in stock, and that we are able to fit you in with the other jobs we have booked that day. To ensure we can get the balloons you want a week to 10 days notice would be appreciated.
Q Will you inflate the balloons I bought in town last week?
A Yes we will, but we can’t make silk purses out of sows’ ears! The balloons we use for our decor work are the best available giving a consistently good tear drop shape and good colours. The chances are you won’t buy these balloons so you won’t get such good results. But for children’s parties we don’t need to be too fussy, and we always like to please the kiddies!
Q I’ve heard that helium balloons go down quickly. Is that right?
A Yes, if 10” diameter latex balloons are inflated with helium they will go down in about 12 hours, and 11” ones in about 18 hours. This is a bit dependant on the conditions they are kept in but left to themselves they will not last long. However, all our decor balloons are treated with a liquid plastic mixture that seals them and will not allow the helium atoms to leak out so quickly. This sealant enables them to stay afloat for several days and usually a week or more. They will gradually shrink, but very often they will still look good after a week or so.
Q Do you hire out helium cylinders?
A No, I’m afraid we don’t. You can always try BOC or New Gases who will be able to supply you. But by the time you have paid their prices for a full cylinder of helium you may well find it would have been cheaper to get us to do the job for you. Generally we would say, “Don’t even think about doing it yourself. We can certainly do it better, we can probably do it cheaper and we save you all the bother!”
Q Do you sell just flat balloons?
A Yes we do. We carry a wide selection of balloons in varying sizes, colours and quality starting at 10p each for plain children’s balloons, right up to 3 foot diameter balloons, if you have the puff to blow them up! Just give us a call or drop by to get them.
Q Do you sell the shiny foil message balloons for birthdays and weddings and so on?
A Yes, we carry a large and varied stock of these balloons for collection at only £3.00 each, or for delivery. We will send them to your loved ones across the country in tailor made boxes to mark birthdays etc, or to send “get well” wishes to a sick friend. Just give us a ring to give us an idea of what occasion you would like to mark, tell us the message you want included and where to send it and we will do the rest. And it will cost you only £10.
